COPPA Compliance Notice

Version: 3.0
Effective date: June 22, 2026
Last updated: June 22, 2026
Next scheduled review: December 22, 2026

This notice explains how Baby Blake's® Bedtime (the "App"), published by ISG Gaming LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), complies with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and its implementing regulations enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, including the FTC's 2025 amendments effective April 22, 2026. We built this app for families, and we take the privacy of children — and their parents — seriously.

If you have questions about this notice or about how we handle your child's privacy, contact us at privacy@babyblake.io.

1. The short version (for busy parents)

  • The App is gated for parents. A math problem keeps young children from using the App without an adult.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The only personal field is the child's first name, which the parent enters during setup.
  • The first name is not stored on our servers. It is sent transiently to our AI partner to personalize the story, then discarded.
  • We never show ads to anyone — adults or children. No advertising, no behavioral tracking, no profiling.
  • We do not sell or rent personal information. Ever. To anyone.
  • You are in control. You can review, delete, or refuse further processing at any time by emailing privacy@babyblake.io. We respond within 30 days.

2. Our commitment to COPPA

Baby Blake's Bedtime is designed for use by children ages 1–10 under direct parental supervision. Because our intended audience includes children under the age of 13, we treat the entire App as if it falls within COPPA's scope — including the FTC's 2025 amendments — and apply COPPA-level protections to every user, regardless of whether the operator is a parent or a child.

This means:

  • We use a parental gate to confirm an adult is present before the App can be used.
  • We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the requested service — and nothing more.
  • We do not use children's data for advertising or profiling.
  • We do not condition a child's participation in any activity on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary.

3. The parental gate

Before reaching the main App, every visitor must solve a simple math problem (e.g., "What is 4 × 7?") designed to be answerable by an adult but not by a young child. Solving the gate confirms that an adult is operating the device.

Because Baby Blake's® Bedtime does not collect personal information from children, COPPA does not require us to obtain verifiable parental consent for your child's use of the App. The parental gate is an additional safeguard we use to confirm that an adult — not a child — is present before reaching the App and any adults-only screen, such as in-app purchases, the recovery-code screens, and the contact form. By completing the gate, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child who will use the App.

We do not store your answer to the math problem and we do not store any record of who solved the gate.

4. Information we collect — and information we do not

4.1 What we collect

When a parent completes the parental gate and sets up an optional profile, the App receives:

  • The child's first name, entered by the parent. This is used only to personalize the narrated story.
  • An age range selection (Beginner ages 1–3, Intermediate ages 4–5, Advanced ages 6–8, Expert ages 9–10), chosen by the parent to calibrate vocabulary and story length.
  • A theme and narrator-voice preference, chosen by the parent for each story.

4.2 What we do NOT collect

  • We do not collect the child's last name, full name, or family name.
  • We do not collect the child's home or email address.
  • We do not collect the child's phone number.
  • We do not collect the child's photograph, voice recording, or video.
  • We do not collect the child's precise geolocation.
  • We do not collect the child's social security number.
  • We do not use any persistent identifier to recognize your child across other apps, sites, or services, or to build an advertising or behavioral profile. (The one identifier the App creates is the anonymous account token described in 4.4, which exists solely to operate the story-credit feature.)
  • We do not use cookies, web beacons, or similar tracking technologies for advertising or third-party tracking.

4.3 Where information lives

Profile information (the child's first name, age range, voice preference) is stored only on your device using your browser's localStorage. It is not transmitted to our servers and we cannot access it. Clearing your browser data, using the "Clear Story Library" or "Delete My Data" buttons in Settings, or uninstalling the App removes everything on the device. (Your purchased story credits are handled through a separate anonymous account — see 4.4.)

4.4 Your account and story credits

If a parent buys story credits, the App uses a simple anonymous account so those credits stay available and can be restored on a new device. This account is created automatically and contains no personal information about you or your child:

  • It holds an anonymous token, your credit balance, a record of the credit packs purchased (an order reference from the app store), and a securely hashed (unreadable) recovery code — never a name, contact information, or any detail about your child.
  • The token is not your child's name, not an advertising ID, and is never used to track your child across other apps or services. It exists only to operate the credits feature.
  • Purchases and the recovery-code screens sit behind the parental gate, so they are reachable only by an adult. On Android, payments are processed by Google Play Billing — we never see or store card or banking information.

Under COPPA, a persistent identifier like this is permitted when it is used solely to support the internal operations of the app — here, keeping track of purchased credits and letting you restore them. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or cross-context tracking. You can delete the account and any unused credits at any time at privacy@babyblake.io.

5. How the first name is used

When you generate a bedtime story, the child's first name is sent to our AI story-generation partner solely to weave the child's name into the narrative (e.g., "Once upon a time, Mia explored the enchanted forest…"). The first name is processed transiently to produce the story text and is not stored, logged, or used for advertising, profiling, or model training.

The generated story is delivered back to your device, where you can optionally save it locally. Saved stories live in your browser's localStorage; we do not retain a server-side copy.

6. Third-party services we use

We rely on a small number of third-party processors to deliver the App. Each receives only the minimum information necessary to provide its service:

ServicePurposeWhat it receives
AnthropicAI story text generationThe story prompt, including the child's first name and theme. Discarded after generation.
ElevenLabsText-to-speech narrationThe generated story text and chosen voice. Discarded after narration is produced.
VercelApp hosting and content deliveryStandard server-log information (IP address, timestamp). Used for security and operational integrity, not for advertising or profiling.
CloudinaryImage and audio asset deliveryStandard CDN request data for the assets the App loads.
Google PlayIn-app purchase processing (Android)Receives payment information directly under its own terms; provides the purchase confirmation we verify before granting credits. We never see card or banking information.
UpstashAnonymous account / credits databaseStores the account token, credit balance, purchase/order references, and the hashed (unreadable) recovery code. No child's name or other personal information.
ResendTransactional email (contact form)Receives only the email address a parent voluntarily provides.
DiscordInternal team notification (private webhook)Notifies our team when a parent submits the contact form. No child's name or story content.

None of these processors are authorized to use children's information for their own purposes, including for advertising, profiling, or to train AI models. We have reviewed each processor's public privacy and terms-of-service documentation before integration.

7. Parental rights under COPPA

As a parent or legal guardian, you have specific rights under COPPA. We honor each of them:

7.1 The right to review

You may request a description of any personal information we have collected from your child. Because we do not retain personal data on our servers, our response is typically: "The first name was processed transiently and was not retained. Profile information lives only on your device."

7.2 The right to refuse further collection or use

You may direct us to delete any personal information we hold and to refuse further collection or use of your child's information. Because we do not retain personal data on our servers, this is usually accomplished by clearing your local profile in Settings or uninstalling the App.

7.3 The right to delete

You may delete your child's profile at any time directly from the App via Settings → Clear Story Library and by clearing the profile. You may also email privacy@babyblake.io to confirm in writing that any incidental data — including your anonymous credits account — has been purged.

7.4 How to exercise these rights

Email privacy@babyblake.io with your request. We respond within 30 days of receiving a verifiable parental request. We may ask you to confirm your identity as the parent or guardian before fulfilling the request, to protect your child's information from disclosure to unauthorized parties.

8. Safe content for children

All AI-generated story content passes through safety guidelines designed to produce age-appropriate material for children ages 1–10. We instruct the underlying AI model to:

  • Avoid violence, frightening imagery, or distressing themes.
  • Avoid romantic or sexual content of any kind.
  • Use vocabulary appropriate to the selected age range.
  • Conclude in a calming, sleep-supportive way.

Despite these safeguards, AI systems can occasionally produce unexpected output. We strongly encourage parents to listen to or read each story alongside their child the first time. If you encounter content that seems inappropriate, please report it via the Send Feedback form in Settings or email privacy@babyblake.io directly.

9. Data security

Communication between the App and our processors uses industry-standard transport-layer encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Because we do not store children's personal information on our servers, the surface area of any potential breach is minimal — the most sensitive data (the child's first name) exists only momentarily during a story generation request and never at rest.

Your anonymous credits account holds only an anonymous token, your credit balance, purchase/order references, and a hashed (unreadable) recovery code — never a name, email, or other personal detail about your child.

Profile data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's own security model (operating-system user account, screen lock, etc.).

10. International users

COPPA is a United States law. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that information you provide will be processed by United States–based services (Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Google, Vercel, Upstash, Cloudinary, and Resend). The protections described in this notice apply uniformly to all users worldwide.

Parents in jurisdictions with additional applicable children's privacy frameworks (such as the United Kingdom Age Appropriate Design Code or the EU's GDPR-K provisions) retain all additional rights afforded under those frameworks. Email privacy@babyblake.io to exercise them.

11. No social or marketing features for children

The App contains no social-networking features, no comments, no messaging, no friend lists, no public profiles, and no peer-to-peer interactions. Children using the App cannot communicate with other users.

We do not market to children. We do not display advertising. We do not deliver push notifications or emails to children. The only outbound communication channel is the parent-initiated Send Feedback form in Settings, which collects only the email address the parent voluntarily provides.

12. Notice to schools and other operators

If a school, library, or other organization is offering Baby Blake's Bedtime to children, the operator of that organization is responsible for obtaining the verifiable parental consent required under COPPA and for ensuring use is consistent with the parents' permissions. Email privacy@babyblake.io if you are an operator and would like a written confirmation of our data practices for your records.

13. Changes to this notice

We may update this COPPA notice from time to time to reflect changes to the App, to our processors, or to applicable law. The version and dates at the top of this page reflect the most recent revision. Material changes (for example, a change to what data we collect or to who has access to it) will be communicated to existing parents through an in-app notice before the change takes effect, and we will obtain new verifiable parental consent where COPPA requires it.

14. Related documents

This COPPA notice is one of three legal documents governing your use of the App. Please also review:

  • Our Privacy Policy, which describes our full data practices for all users.
  • Our Terms of Service, which set out the legal agreement between you and ISG Gaming LLC.
